Art
Students will work on art projects and have lessons on finding their inner artist. Media varies, but creativity is nonstop! Keep an eye out for gallery showings in the hallways!
Students will use various tools and materials, including paint, oil pastels, clay, fabric, markers, scissors, speed squares, and pencils. The students will create a variety of projects, such as drawing, sculpture, sewing, clay work, paper in various ways, and printmaking.
Library
The Chambers Prairie Library is a special place for learning. Students have lessons on research, spend time finding the perfect book, and other activities to help foster learning on their own.
Music
Music is the focus! Singing, basic theory, and even some instrument practice are on the schedule for music specialist time. 5th graders have the chance to participate in band or orchestra and spend time with the music specialist.
Physical Education (PE)
Students participate in physical education lessons in the gym, around campus, and at home on their own! During PE specialist weeks, be sure to dress to move around! Students should come to class wearing clothing that is safe for movement and exercise.
- Footwear should include some type of flat-bottom sneaker (no heels). Tennis shoes, or basketball shoes that lace up, are perfect. Velcro, or other fasteners, are fine, as long as the shoes do not fall off (no sandals or Crocs).
- Socks are also an important part of proper footwear. Regular, white tube socks are great.
- Pants, sweats, shorts, and skorts are preferred. Dresses and skirts should come with shorts or tights underneath.
